Upholstery Care
The furniture and floors in your home or office are often two of your largest investments. However, while many people remember to have their carpets professionally cleaned, they often forget that their upholstery needs regular professional care as well. As with carpet, there are many ways to clean upholstered furniture. Unlike carpet, however, hot water extraction is not the best cleaning method, as it can be damaging to the fabric. Most upholstery is made from natural fibers which may be very sensitive to hot water and over-wetting.
At Dome Cleaning, Inc., we use a dry foam method. Because it uses very little water, it is safe for any material (including leather) and for most dyes.
Here is a description of some of our services:
- IICRC Certified Upholstery Cleaning: Our dry foam cleaning services will help to make your fabric furniture look like new. This is recommended annually for regular use furniture, and more often for high traffic furniture (such as lobby furniture) or furniture that you share with your pets.
- Spot Cleaning: Did your neighbor spill Cabernet Sauvignon on your couch? Did the baby vomit on the pillow? Give Dome Cleaning, Inc. a call for professional spot cleaning in between your regular professional cleaning appointments.
- Upholstery Protectant:

When you purchase new upholstered furniture, it often comes treated with a protector. Over time, this protection wears off. Having the protector reapplied after each professional cleaning not only helps to preserve the color, beauty, and life of your upholstery, but it also gives you extra time to clean up spills before they turn into stains.
- Leather Furniture Care: Our technicians can apply a quality leather conditioner to help keep your leather furniture supple and soft. This service is recommended annually to help to prevent early wear and cracks in the leather.
- Deodorizers:
Strong odors often remain after urine, feces, vomit, sour milk and other organic materials get on your upholstery. If not cleaned properly, your upholstery will retain the smell until cleaned by an enzyme. Enzymes work by actually digesting the organic matter that's causing the smell - leaving your furniture smelling good again.
